2011

It all started with the desire to spread the charm of Japan to the world.

A tie is something that embodies "feelings."

The time is the Thirty Years' War in the 17th century.
Red scarves given to Croatian soldiers heading off to the battlefield by their lovers and families in hopes of their safety.
That scarf was a talisman for loved ones and is said to be the root of the necktie that still exists today.

I want to revive in modern times products that act like talismans, that change something inside of you when you wear them.
Even as machines and AI technology continue to evolve and develop, we want to deliver to the world things created by human "hands" and "passions."
With this in mind, we started the brand in 2011.

13 years later...
Various crises such as global abnormal weather, disasters, and pandemics.
It was time to reconsider deeply the meaning of creating things.
What is closer to people and the environment?
What leads to wonderful things...

We want to update tradition and create things that have lasting value.
To achieve this, we built the brand from scratch and rebooted COCON in 2024.
