4. Materials
MATERIAL
The highest grade 6A spring cocoon raw thread is softly twisted using a unique method developed over many years by a long-established spinning factory in Gunma with outstanding skills, in order to avoid putting any unnecessary stress on the silk. The more strongly the silk thread is twisted, the less gloss it loses, so at COCON, we gently twist the thread with this soft twist to avoid damaging the silk's original gloss. By twisting at approximately 100T/m, less than half the usual soft twist, the thread is given a gentle gloss not found anywhere else, and is produced as expressive raw silk thread.
Cocon also pays particular attention to the dyeing and sewing thread.
1. Pursuit of fabric
FABRICK
The finest silk threads are woven with an ultra-high density weft thread, which is not possible with regular silk fabrics.
(Specific numerical values are included) In order to emphasize the rich luster and texture of silk, the thread is twisted as loosely as possible, which reduces the strength of the thread. To compensate for this, the weave is woven with as much density as possible, achieving a high level of balance between maintaining the luster and texture of the thread and improving its physical properties. This is the highest quality fabric that COCON can imagine.
