Handmade Tre Piege Necktie Kokkoku | Solid Charcoal Gray Mélange
The Reliability of "Universal Standard" with Added Quality
This Tre Piege model uses "Kokkoku - Solid," a solid rep weave fabric.
Though simple in appearance, the ridges created by the ultra-high density woven fabric emit a distinct presence.
Its simplicity makes it a reliable tie that can be easily paired with any suit or jacket.
This tie is recommended for those trying Cocon products for the first time, as well as those who prefer a basic yet high-quality item.
Furthermore, it is easier to handle than the Sette Piege, making it an ideal gift for both frequent tie-wearers and those who wear ties less often.
Fabric and Materials

Kokkoku | Solid
Cocon's universal standard, the solid rep weave fabric "Kokkoku."
This is the plain weave fabric we are most confident in recommending, perfected through numerous improvements since our establishment.
The fabric is finished with an ultra-high density weave using a special device.
Its ridges possess a neat beauty reminiscent of the "sand ripples in a Japanese dry garden."
To create the most beautiful ridges possible, we have relentlessly incorporated the finest techniques and passed them down through generations—this is the sentiment embedded in Kokkoku.

Extremely High-Density Woven Fabric and Special Finishing Process
This Tre Piege model, like our high-end Sette Piege ties, uses "Kokkoku" fabric, which is woven with the highest quality silk threads and an unusually high density of weft threads, far beyond what is typical for silk textiles.
Fabric woven to such extreme density makes it very difficult for needles to pass through during sewing, making hand-stitching extremely challenging.
Additionally, the fabric can be stiff, affecting the comfort of the tie, and prone to marks after the product is made.
To resolve these issues, a special finishing process is applied after weaving, tailored for ties, which addresses these various problems.
Furthermore, after the finishing process, all fabrics are rigorously inspected using linen testers (magnifying glasses) before being made into products.

Thread and Dyeing Named After a Goddess
The raw silk yarn used is carefully selected, highest-grade 6A natural silk.
This superior 6A-grade raw yarn is in a class of its own; the yarn itself is named "Flora," after the Roman goddess of flowers, spring, and fertility, and comes with a certification. As its name suggests, "Flora" silk is extremely high-quality and rare, with cocoons harvested in spring, the season with the highest quality, representing a superior quality even within the 6A grade.
The pure silk threads produced from this are meticulously dyed by artisans at a long-established dyeing house in Kyoto, known for its expertise in Japanese dyeing since ancient times, without any compromise. Craftsmen with extensive knowledge and years of dyeing experience carefully dye the threads over time, resulting in truly unique pure silk threads.

Color
The fabric of this product is woven using rare silk top yarn, which undergoes twice as many processes as regular silk yarn, and two types of pure silk yarn of different thicknesses. By crushing multiple colors of silk once and re-spinning them into yarn, we create a silk top yarn with a unique luster and mélange effect. By further adding two shades of gray and weaving them together, we achieve a deep, unique charcoal gray mélange.

Tailoring

Handmade Tailoring, Not Machine-Made
Tre Piege ties, like our high-end Sette Piege ties, are carefully hand-sewn by skilled artisans.
While many brands use machine manufacturing, Cocon tailors even its Tre Piege ties with the highest quality handmade craftsmanship. From the lining stitching to the tags and bar tacks, every detail is meticulously handcrafted.
~ What is Tre Piege? ~
In Italian, "Tre" means "three" and "Pieghe" means "folds," referring to a tie made with three folds. It finishes beautifully no matter who ties it and creates a sharp impression, making it a favorite among many businessmen for years. The majority of general ties distributed in Japan are Tre Piege, and factors such as less fabric usage and the possibility of machine production are said to have contributed to its prevalence.
Cocon's Tre Piege differs from Sette Piege in fabric consumption and folding method, but the quality of the fabric used and the uniquely designed specifications remain the same, and it is also handmade.
This allows you to enjoy Cocon products more easily while still experiencing the same sense of luxury as Sette Piege. It is also recommended for those unfamiliar with Sette Piege.

Lining Specification
Tre Piege models come in two types: one with a lining made from the same luxurious outer fabric, and a sfoderata (unlined) model with a hand-rolled finish. This particular model features the lined version, offering a stable and comfortable wearing experience.

Hidden Bar Tack / Horseshoe Bar Tack
This Tre Piege model features uniquely designed "bar tacks" in two places on the back. The image shows the horseshoe-shaped bar tack on the narrow end.
These bar tacks serve the functional role of firmly securing the left and right fabrics, while also being a decorative design embodying the artisan's skill and aesthetic sense.
Although not as prominent as Sette Piege, the bar tacks are positioned as high as possible.
While this increases the cost due to the greater amount of lining fabric required, we intentionally adopt this approach to express the natural subtle distortions and beautiful drape that appear when tied, in pursuit of Cocon's aesthetic vision.
On the back of the wide end, there is a hidden vertical knitted bar tack made from 100% silk high-twist yarn, invisible from the outside. On the back of the narrow end, a horseshoe-shaped knitted bar tack made from French cotton embroidery thread is carefully hand-knitted one by one. The image shows the horseshoe-shaped knitted bar tack on the narrow end.
Both are original details conceived by Cocon, symbolizing artisan skill with a three-dimensional presence that can only be achieved through handmade craftsmanship.
Auxiliary Materials

Ultra High-Density Echizen Woven Labels
The brand and quality tags used in Cocon products are Echizen woven labels, crafted by a label manufacturer in Fukui Prefecture with outstanding technology.
In Tre Piege models, the bar tack position is higher compared to general ties, so the tag position is adjusted to achieve the most beautiful balance according to this unique specification.
Furthermore, to convey the high level of Japanese weaving technology, we challenge ourselves to express brand logos, QR codes, and washing instructions at the world's smallest level.
Using ultra-fine threads, we have made continuous improvements so that each character is clearly recognizable despite its small size.
While this may not be a detail usually given much thought, it also conceals Japan's proud high technology.

Braided Cord Loop
The loop on the back of a tie, also known as a keeper, is generally made from the same fabric as the main body. However, Cocon uses loops made using traditional Japanese kumihimo (braiding) techniques.
These kumihimo loops are carefully crafted one by one for Cocon by a long-established kumihimo workshop in Kyoto, making them completely original.
This Tre Piege model uses a loop made from a square eight-braid kumihimo cord.
The symmetrically crafted loop exudes a subtle beauty, whether the narrow end is passed through it or not, thanks to its balanced aesthetics.
You can enjoy the certain traditional beauty, backed by tradition, right from your chest.
Gift Box

Book-style Laminated Box
The Tre Piege model comes in a book-style V-cut box.
This gift box is meticulously crafted one by one by a paper product manufacturer in Hokkaido with exceptional skill.
It is a book-style V-cut box made from fine paper (FSC-certified paper) featuring a gentle, hammered-like embossed pattern.
The brand logo is embossed in clear foil on the top surface, and the inside of the box has a two-layer structure with an insert to prevent the tie from being crushed.
Beyond its beauty, the joy of opening it, the sound it makes when closed, and its function of protecting the tie all combine to express our worldview.
Storage Method
After use, please hang the tie in a well-ventilated, dark place to dry the fabric and allow wrinkles to restore.
Please be careful not to expose it to direct sunlight, as this may cause fading or discoloration.
