What is a latch?
Cocon ties feature two uniquely designed "bartacks" on the reverse side.
A hidden bartack, invisible from the outside, is sewn into the back of the wide blade.

On the back of the narrow blade, a horseshoe-shaped woven bartack is carefully hand-stitched one by one.

These bartacks serve a functional role, securely fastening the left and right fabrics, and also act as a decorative design imbued with the artisan's skill and aesthetic sense.
Originally, "kan-nuki" refers to an ancient Japanese technique of fixing wood or metal horizontally to close a door. In ties, "kan-nuki-dome" (bartacks) play a role in supporting the structure, similar to fittings, and are also called "bar tacks." At Cocon, artisans carefully weave each stitch to create these bartacks.
We spare no effort or aesthetic consideration, even for parts that are not visible from the outside.
This is the philosophy behind Cocon's craftsmanship.
