Handmade Tre Piege Tie Kokkoku | Solid Navy
The comfort of quality added to a "universal staple"
This Tre Piege model uses a solid rep fabric called "Kokkoku - Solid."
While simple in appearance, the ridges created by the ultra-high density woven fabric exude a definite presence.
And because of its simplicity, it is a reassuring tie that can be easily matched with any suit or jacket.
This tie is recommended for those trying Cocon products for the first time, as well as for those who prefer a more basic yet quality-conscious tie.
It is also easier to handle than the Sette Piege, making it an ideal gift for both frequent tie wearers and those who aren't.
Fabric and Material

Kokkoku|Solid Color
Cocon's universal staple, the rep fabric "Kokkoku" in solid colors.
This is the jinjime-ori fabric we are most confident in recommending, perfected through numerous improvements since our founding.
It is a fabric woven with ultra-high density using a special device.
Its ridges embody a serene beauty reminiscent of the "sand ripples in a Japanese dry garden."
To create the most beautiful ridges possible, we simply devote ourselves to inscribing the best techniques and passing them down to future generations—such is the sentiment woven into Kokkoku.

Extreme Weave Fabric and Special Finishing Process
This Tre Piege model, like the high-end Sette Piege tie, uses "Kokkoku," a fabric woven with the finest silk threads, where the weft threads are beaten at an incredibly high density, unusual for regular silk weaving.
Fabric with an extreme weave density makes it very difficult for needles to pass through during sewing, making hand-sewing extremely challenging.
Furthermore, the stiff fabric can affect the comfort of wearing the tie and lead to issues such as fabric marks appearing after the product is made.
To address these problems, a special finishing process is applied to the fabric after weaving, tailored specifically for ties, which resolves these various issues.
After the finishing process, all fabrics undergo rigorous inspection using a linen tester (tabletop loupe) before being manufactured into products.

Yarn and Dyeing Bearing the Name of a Goddess
The pure silk yarn used is carefully selected top-grade 6A natural silk.
This top-grade 6A raw yarn is of a different class from other raw yarns; the raw yarn itself is named "Flora" after the Roman goddess of flowers, spring, and fertility, and comes with a certificate. As its name suggests, "Flora" is an extremely high-quality and rare silk, harvested in spring when quality is highest among all seasons, boasting an even more outstanding quality within the 6A rank.
The pure silk yarn produced from this is then meticulously dyed by artisans at a long-established dyeing factory in Kyoto, which has been responsible for Japanese dyeing since ancient times, without any compromise. With abundant knowledge and years of dyeing intuition, the artisans spend time carefully dyeing, resulting in truly unique pure silk yarn.

Color
The fabric of this product uses Cocon's recommended "navy blue (Navy A97)" pure silk yarn, achieved through repeated trial weaving to perfect the color. It's a deep navy blue inspired by the deep sea where light barely reaches, and it's woven with black warp threads to further enhance the navy color of the ridges. This is a classic traditional color that blends perfectly with any jacket.

Tailoring

Handmade tailoring without relying on machines
Tre Piege ties, like the high-end Sette Piege ties, are carefully hand-stitched one by one by skilled craftsmen.
While many brands use machine manufacturing, Cocon tailors its Tre Piege ties with the highest quality handmade craftsmanship. From the lining stitching to the tags and bar tacks, every detail is meticulously handmade.
~What is Tre Piege?~
Meaning "Tre (three)" and "Pieghe (folds)" in Italian, it is a tie made with three folds, as its name suggests. It has been loved by many businessmen for years because it always finishes neatly no matter who ties it, creating a crisp impression. The majority of common ties distributed in Japan are Tre Piege, and it is said that factors such as less fabric usage and the possibility of machine manufacturing have made it mainstream.
Cocon's Tre Piege differs from Sette Piege in fabric consumption and folding method, but the quality of the fabric used and the unique design specifications remain the same, and it is also handmade.
This allows you to enjoy Cocon products more easily while still experiencing the same sense of luxury as Sette Piege. It is also recommended for those unfamiliar with Sette Piege.

Lining specifications
The Tre Piege model comes in two types: one with a lining that uses the same luxurious fabric as the outer material, and a sfoderato (unlined) model with a hand-rolled finish.
This model features the lined version. You can enjoy a stable and comfortable feel when wearing it.

Hidden bar tack, horseshoe-shaped bar tack
This Tre Piege model features uniquely designed "bar tacking" in two places on the reverse side. The image shows the horseshoe-shaped bar tack on the narrow end.
This bar tack not only serves the functional role of securely holding the left and right fabrics, but also acts as a decorative design imbued with the craftsman's skill and aesthetic sense.
While not as prominent as Sette Piege, the bar tack is positioned as high as possible.
This increases the fabric consumption for the lining, thereby raising costs, but it is intentionally adopted in pursuit of Cocon's aesthetic to express the natural drape and beautiful folds that emerge when tied.
On the reverse side of the wide end, there is a hidden vertical knitted bar tack made of 100% silk high-twist yarn, invisible from the outside. On the reverse side of the narrow end, a horseshoe-shaped knitted bar tack made of French cotton embroidery thread is carefully hand-knitted one by one. The image shows the horseshoe-shaped knitted bar tack on the narrow end.
Both are original details conceived by Cocon, embodying a three-dimensional quality and presence achievable only through handmade craftsmanship, symbolizing the artisan's skill.
Accessories

Ultra-High Density Echizen Woven Label
The brand tags and quality tags used in Cocon products are Echizen woven labels, produced by a Fukui Prefecture label manufacturer with outstanding technology.
In the Tre Piege model, the bar tack position is higher compared to general ties, so the tag position is adjusted to achieve the most beautiful balance according to this unique specification.
Furthermore, to showcase the high level of Japanese weaving technology, we challenge ourselves to represent brand logos, QR codes, and laundry symbols at the world's smallest level.
Using ultra-fine threads, we have repeatedly improved the design so that each character, though small, can be clearly recognized.
This may be something you don't usually pay much attention to, but high-level Japanese technology is hidden here too.

Kumihimo Loop
The loop attached to the back of the tie, also known as the "narrow end keeper," is generally made from the same fabric as the main body. However, Cocon uses a loop made with the traditional Japanese technique of Kumihimo.
This Kumihimo loop is carefully crafted one by one for Cocon by a long-established Kumihimo workshop in Kyoto, making it a completely original specification.
This Tre Piege model uses a loop made of a square eight-braid Kumihimo.
The symmetrically crafted loop exudes a serene beauty, whether the narrow end is passed through it or not, due to its balanced aesthetics.
You can enjoy the certain traditional beauty, backed by tradition, right from your chest.
Gift Box

Book-style rigid box
The Tre Piege model features a book-style V-cut box.
This gift box is carefully crafted one by one by a paper product manufacturer in Hokkaido with exceptional skill.
It's a book-style V-cut box made from fine paper (FSC forest certified paper) characterized by a gentle hammered pattern emboss, like being finely tapped with a mallet.
The top surface features a debossed brand logo with clear foil, and the interior of the box has a two-layer structure with a divider to prevent the tie from being crushed.
Beyond beauty, it expresses our worldview by offering the joy of opening, the sound when closed, and the function of protecting the tie.
Storage Method
After use, please hang the fabric in a well-ventilated, dark place to allow it to dry and the wrinkles to relax.
Please note that placing it in direct sunlight may cause color fading or discoloration.
