Handmade Tre Pieghe Tie Kokkoku | Solid Brown
The peace of mind of a "universal classic" with added quality
This Tre Pieghe model features the plain rep fabric "Kokkoku - Plain".
Though simple in appearance, the ridges created by the ultra-high-density woven fabric possess a distinct presence.
And because of its simplicity, it offers a reassuring versatility that pairs well with any suit or jacket.
This tie is recommended for those trying COCON products for the first time, as well as those who prefer basic yet high-quality items.
Furthermore, it is easier to handle than a Sette Pieghe, making it an ideal gift for both frequent tie-wearers and those who wear ties less often.
Fabric and Material

Kokkoku | Plain
COCON's universal classic, the plain rep fabric "Kokkoku".
This is the best jinme-ori (figured weave) fabric we can confidently recommend, perfected through countless improvements since our founding.
It is a fabric woven with ultra-high density using special equipment.
Its ridges evoke the serene beauty of the sand patterns in a Japanese dry landscape garden.
The intention behind Kokkoku is to continuously engrave the finest techniques to create the most beautiful possible ridges and pass them down to future generations.

Extreme Density Fabric and Special Finishing Process
This Tre Pieghe model, like our high-end Sette Pieghe ties, uses "Kokkoku" fabric woven with the highest quality silk yarn, with an incredibly high density of weft threads, which is unheard of in normal silk weaving.
Fabric woven with extreme density makes it very difficult for needles to pass through during sewing, making hand-stitching exceptionally challenging.
Additionally, the fabric can be stiff, affecting the feel of the tie when worn, and can be prone to pressure marks after the product is made.
To resolve these issues, a special finishing process tailored for ties is applied after the fabric is woven, addressing various problems.
Furthermore, after the finishing process, all fabrics undergo rigorous inspection using tools like linen testers (desktop loupes) before being made into products.

Yarn and Dyeing Bearing the Name of a Goddess
The raw silk yarn used is carefully selected, top-grade 6A natural silk.
This highest quality 6A grade raw yarn is in a league of its own, bearing the name of the Roman goddess of flowers, spring, and fertility, "Flora," and comes with a certificate. True to its name, the cocoons harvested in spring, the season with the highest quality, are extremely high-grade and rare silk, boasting exceptional quality even among 6A grade.
And the pure silk yarn produced from this is meticulously dyed by artisans at a long-established Kyoto dyeing house, which has been responsible for Japanese dyeing since ancient times, without any compromise. Artisans with extensive knowledge and years of dyeing intuition meticulously dye the yarn over time, resulting in truly unique pure silk yarn.

Color
This fabric uses carefully selected deep chestnut brown (Brown B70) pure silk yarn, based on COCON's concept of the best "Azzurro e Marrone." To achieve a Marrone (brown) that matches Azzurro (blue/navy) jackets, and to prevent the color from being too sweet, it is intentionally woven with black warp threads. In addition to Azzurro e Marrone, it also pairs excellently with gray jackets.

Tailoring

Handmade Tailoring Without Relying on Machines
Tre Pieghe ties, like our high-end Sette Pieghe ties, are carefully hand-stitched one by one by skilled artisans.
While many brands manufacture with machines, COCON also tailors Tre Pieghe with the highest quality handmade craftsmanship. From the lining stitching to the tags and bar tacks, even the smallest details are hand-finished.
~ What is Tre Pieghe? ~
Meaning "Tre (3)" and "Pieghe (folds)" in Italian, it is a tie made with three folds. It has been loved by many businessmen for years because it ties beautifully and creates a neat impression, regardless of who ties it. Most common ties in Japan are Tre Pieghe, and factors such as less fabric consumption and the possibility of machine-made production are said to have contributed to its prevalence.
COCON's Tre Pieghe ties differ from Sette Pieghe in terms of fabric consumption and folding method, but the quality of the fabric used and the unique design specifications remain the same, and they are also hand-stitched.
This allows you to enjoy COCON products more easily while still feeling the same luxury as a Sette Pieghe. It is also recommended for those unfamiliar with Sette Pieghe ties.

Lining Specifications
Tre Pieghe models come in two types: one with a lining made from the same luxurious outer fabric, and a sfoderata (unlined) model with a hand-rolled finish.
This model is available with a lining. You can enjoy a stable and comfortable feel when wearing it.

Hidden and Horseshoe Bar Tacks
This Tre Pieghe model features our unique "bar tack" specification in two places on the reverse side. The image shows the horseshoe-shaped bar tack on the narrow end.
These bar tacks play a functional role in securely fastening the left and right fabrics, and also serve as a decorative design imbued with the artisan's skill and aesthetic sense.
While not as high as a Sette Pieghe, the bar tack is positioned as high as possible.
Although this increases the cost due to the increased lining fabric required, COCON intentionally adopts this to express the natural subtle distortions and beautiful drape that appear when worn, in pursuit of our aesthetic ideal.
On the reverse side of the wide end, there is a hidden vertical knitted bar tack made of 100% silk high-twist yarn, invisible from the outside. On the reverse side of the narrow end, a horseshoe-shaped knitted bar tack made of French cotton embroidery thread is carefully hand-stitched one by one. The image shows the horseshoe-shaped knitted bar tack on the narrow end.
Both are original details conceived by COCON, symbolizing artisanal skill with a three-dimensional feel and presence achievable only through handmade craftsmanship.
Auxiliary Materials

Ultra-High Density Echizen Woven Name Tag
The brand and quality tags used in COCON products are Echizen woven name tags, made by a Fukuian name tag manufacturer with outstanding technology.
In the Tre Pieghe model, the bar tack position is higher compared to general ties, so the tag position is adjusted to achieve the most beautiful balance according to this unique specification.
Additionally, to convey the high level of Japanese weaving technology, we challenge ourselves to express brand logos, QR codes, and washing instructions at the world's smallest level.
Using ultra-fine threads, we have made continuous improvements so that each character, though small, can be clearly recognized.
While it may not be something you usually pay attention to, high Japanese technology is hidden here as well.

Braided Cord Loop
The loop on the back of the tie, also known as the keeper loop, is generally made from the same fabric as the main body. However, COCON uses a loop created with traditional Japanese kumihimo (braiding) techniques.
This kumihimo loop is carefully made one by one for COCON by a long-established kumihimo workshop in Kyoto, making it a completely original specification.
This Tre Pieghe model uses a loop made from a square eight-strand kumihimo braid.
The symmetrically crafted loop exudes a serene beauty, whether the narrow end is passed through it or not, due to its balanced aesthetics.
You can enjoy the authentic traditional beauty, backed by tradition, from your chest.
Presentation Box

Book-Style Mounted Box
The Tre Pieghe model comes in a book-style V-cut box.
This presentation box is meticulously crafted one by one by a Hokkaido paper product manufacturer with exceptional skill.
It is a book-style V-cut box made from fine paper (FSC certified paper) featuring an embossed pattern that resembles gentle hammering.
The brand logo is debossed with clear foil on the top surface, and the interior of the box has a two-layer structure with an insert to prevent the tie from being crushed.
By possessing not only beauty but also the joy of opening it, the sound it makes when closed, and the function of protecting the tie, we express our worldview.
Storage Method
After use, please hang the tie in a well-ventilated, dark place to dry the fabric and allow wrinkles to restore.
Please be aware that direct sunlight can cause fading or discoloration.
