Self-Tie Bow Tie Kokkoku|Solid Navy
"Bow Tie" that unleashes a unique individuality
This bow tie is made from our plain rep fabric "Kokkoku - Solid".
While it has a simple appearance, the ridges created by its ultra-high-density weave exude a distinct presence.
Its simplicity also makes it a reliable choice that pairs well with any suit or jacket. This is a top-quality bow tie that we confidently recommend to both experienced bow tie wearers and those trying one for the first time. It also makes a wonderful gift for anyone who appreciates fine accessories. Please give it a try.
Fabric and Material

Kokkoku|Solid
Cocon's timeless classic, the plain rep fabric "Kokkoku."
Since our establishment, we have made numerous improvements to perfect this ridged weave fabric, which we confidently recommend as our best. It is woven with ultra-high density using special equipment.
Its ridges possess an orderly beauty reminiscent of the sand ripples in a Japanese dry landscape garden. To create the most beautiful possible ridges, we have painstakingly incorporated the highest level of craftsmanship and intend to pass it down to future generations—this is the sentiment behind Kokkoku.

Extremely High-Density Woven Fabric and Special Finishing Process
This bow tie, like our high-end sette pieghe ties, uses "Kokkoku" fabric, woven with the finest silk threads. The weft threads are beaten in at an ultra-high density, far exceeding what is typically seen in silk weaving.
Fabric woven with such extreme density makes it incredibly difficult for a needle to pass through during sewing, making hand-stitching very challenging. Furthermore, the fabric can be stiff, affecting the comfort of tying the tie, and prone to showing creases after the product is made.
To resolve these issues, we apply a special finishing process after the fabric is woven, tailored to the specific product, which eliminates these various problems.
After the finishing process, all fabrics undergo rigorous inspection using tools like a linen tester (a magnifying loupe) before being made into products.

Thread and Dyeing Named After a Goddess
The raw silk thread used is carefully selected, top-grade 6A natural silk.
This superior 6A raw thread is in a class of its own; the thread itself is named "Flora," after the Roman goddess of flowers, spring, and fertility, and comes with a certification. True to its name, "Flora" silk, harvested in spring—the season with the highest quality cocoons—boasts exceptionally fine and rare quality, even among 6A grades.
The silk thread made from these cocoons is then dyed by artisans at a long-established Kyoto dye house, which has traditionally handled Japanese dyeing, with an uncompromising commitment to perfection. Through the careful and time-consuming work of artisans with extensive knowledge and years of dyeing expertise, a truly unique silk thread is created.

Color
The fabric of this product uses Cocon's recommended "navy (Navy A97)" silk thread, whose hue has been perfected through numerous trial weaves. It is a deep indigo color, evoking the deep sea where light barely penetrates. To enhance the crispness of the navy ridges on the surface, it is intentionally woven with black warp threads. This is a classic, traditional color that blends perfectly with any jacket color.

Tailoring

Commitment to Self-Tie Style
Bow ties come in two types: those with pre-tied wings and those that you tie yourself. While pre-tied bow ties always look neat and tidy, COCON has exclusively produced self-tie bow ties since its inception, as we want you to enjoy the casual elegance of a hand-tied knot. Like the dimple of a sette pieghe tie, the expression changes with each knot, allowing you to enjoy a stylish look.

Completely Original Pattern
When revamping the brand, we created new patterns from scratch and went through several prototypes, ultimately selecting two patterns.
One is a slightly larger wing bow tie (standard model) that creates a glamorous V-zone, and the other is a narrower bow tie (narrow model) that pairs well with modern jackets with slim lapels.
This product uses the latter narrow model pattern, which features thinner wings.

Uncompromising Tailoring
Each tie is meticulously crafted by skilled artisans in Kyoto. With the exception of parts that must be machine-stitched, everything is handmade. The result is a tie that embodies the warmth of human touch.
Accessories

Original Metal Parts
The metal parts for COCON's bow ties are meticulously crafted one by one by skilled artisans at a metalworking studio in Tokyo, which has for many years been responsible for producing high-end accessories and parts for renowned domestic and international brands.
Standard metal parts typically used for bow ties are about 0.5mm thick and can bend easily under slight pressure. To enhance strength and safety, COCON uses brass that is 1mm thick—twice the thickness of standard parts—and has created all three types of parts (hook, loop, and slider) from custom molds.
Additionally, the hook features an engraved brand logo, and all parts are finished with a lustrous nickel plating.

Ultra High-Density Echizen Weave Name Tag
The brand and quality tags used in our products are Echizen weave name tags, produced by a highly skilled name tag manufacturer in Fukui Prefecture.
For bow ties, just like sette pieghe and tre pieghe ties, the tag's position is adjusted to achieve the most beautiful balance, without being overly conspicuous.
Furthermore, to showcase the high level of Japanese weaving technology, we are challenging ourselves to express brand logos, QR codes, and washing instructions at the world's smallest scale.
Using ultra-fine threads, we have repeatedly refined the design so that each character, though small, is clearly legible.
While it may seem like a minor detail, this is another area where Japan's proud craftsmanship is hidden.
Gift Box

Book-Style Pasted Box
Our self-tie bow ties are presented in a book-style V-cut box. This gift box is meticulously crafted one by one by a skilled paper product manufacturer in Hokkaido. It's a book-style V-cut box made from fine paper (FSC certified paper) featuring a gentle, hammered-like embossed pattern. The brand logo is hot-stamped in clear foil on the top and sides, and the inside of the box has a two-layer structure with an insert to keep the bow tie securely in place. Beyond its beauty, it offers the pleasure of opening, a satisfying closing sound, and the functional benefit of protecting the tie, all expressing our brand's worldview.
Storage Method
After use, please hang the fabric in a well-ventilated, dark place to dry and allow wrinkles to restore. Avoid direct sunlight, as it may cause fading or discoloration. If you notice wrinkles when untying and retying, please use a steamer or iron steam for maintenance.
