Handmade Tre Pieghe Tie Koku Koku | Stripe 01 Black (Level 7)
Enjoy the quiet rhythm woven by the fabric, in a natural way
This Tre Pieghe model features a striped rep fabric called "Koku Koku - Stripe 01".
Like the plain Koku Koku, the ridges created by the ultra-high-density woven fabric, while seemingly simple, possess a distinct presence.
By combining two stripes of different thicknesses, a sharper look not found in plain fabrics is achieved.
With its understated pattern, it is highly versatile and blends naturally with various suits and jackets.
The Tre Pieghe, made with three folds, is supported by many businessmen because it naturally creates a beautiful knot.
Most of the ties distributed in Japan also follow this Tre Pieghe specification.
This tie is recommended for those trying Cocon products for the first time, as well as for those who seek high quality while maintaining a basic style.
Furthermore, it is easier to handle than the Sette Pieghe and suitable for everyday use, making it ideal not only for those who regularly wear ties but also as a gift.
Fabric and Material

Koku Koku | Stripe 01
Cocon's timeless classic, the rep fabric "Koku Koku" in a striped pattern.
Koku Koku is our most confidently recommended rep fabric, perfected through numerous improvements since our founding.
This fabric is woven with ultra-high density using special equipment.
Its ridges possess a serene beauty reminiscent of the sand patterns in a karesansui (dry landscape) garden.
The desire to engrave the highest possible skill to create the most beautiful ridges and pass it on to future generations is embodied in Koku Koku.
For Koku Koku Stripe, some changes have been made to the fabric used from the plain Koku Koku.
In addition to gray, two colors, navy and brown, also feature melange-like heathered colors.
You can enjoy the deep and beautiful contrast created by the interplay of stripes.
Due to the use of silk top yarn and spun silk yarn, slight fuzz may appear on the fabric surface.
Additionally, please note that there may be individual differences in texture due to variations in yarn production lots.
This does not affect the quality, and we hope you can enjoy it as a unique characteristic of the fabric.

Extremely Dense Fabric and Special Finishing Process
This Tre Pieghe model uses "Koku Koku" fabric, which is woven with the highest quality silk yarn, like our high-end Sette Pieghe ties, but with an unprecedented ultra-high density of weft threads for silk textiles.
Fabric woven to such an extreme density is very difficult to sew by hand because the needle cannot pass through it during tailoring.
Furthermore, issues such as the fabric being stiff and affecting the feel of the tie when worn, or the fabric showing marks easily after being made into a product, can arise.
Therefore, these problems are resolved by a special finishing process adapted for ties, carried out after the fabric is woven.
After the finishing process, all fabrics undergo strict inspection using a linen tester (tabletop magnifier) or similar tools before being made into products.

Yarn and Dyeing named after a Goddess
The raw silk yarn used is carefully selected, highest-grade 6A natural silk. This top-grade 6A raw yarn is of a different caliber from other raw yarns; the raw yarn itself is named "Flora," after the Roman goddess of flowers, spring, and fertility, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. As its name suggests, "Flora" is an extremely high-quality and rare silk, harvested from cocoons in spring, which is the season with the highest quality, even among 6A grade silks. The pure silk threads made from this are dyed without compromise by skilled artisans at a long-established dyeing house in Kyoto, which has been responsible for Japanese dyeing since ancient times. By carefully dyeing the threads over time, with the extensive knowledge and years of experience of the artisans, truly unique pure silk threads are created.

Color
The fabric for this product uses Level 7 black silk thread. While super black, considered blacker than ordinary black, is around dyeing level 5, the thread used here has been elevated two further dyeing levels to level 7. This Level 7 black, said to be the highest level of black dyeing, creates a deeper black hue and a sense of luxury. Additionally, for the white stripe, a deliberate choice was made to weave it using different threads: tussah silk for the thick line and cultivated silk for the thin line.

Tailoring

Handmade Tailoring without Machines
Tre Pieghe ties, like the high-end Sette Pieghe ties, are meticulously hand-sewn one by one by skilled artisans.
While many brands use machine manufacturing, Cocon's Tre Pieghe ties are also tailored by hand to the highest quality. From the stitching of the lining to the tags and bar tacks, every detail is handcrafted.
~ What is Tre Pieghe? ~
In Italian, "Tre" means "three" and "Pieghe" means "folds," and as the name suggests, it is a tie made with three folds. It has been loved by many businessmen for years because it creates a neat and formal impression, regardless of who ties it. The majority of ties distributed in Japan are Tre Pieghe, and factors such as less fabric consumption and the possibility of machine manufacturing are said to have contributed to its widespread use.
Cocon's Tre Pieghe, while differing from Sette Pieghe in fabric consumption and folding method, maintains the same quality in terms of fabric used and unique design specifications, and is furthermore handcrafted.
This allows customers to enjoy Cocon products more easily while experiencing the same sense of luxury as with Sette Pieghe. It is also recommended for those unfamiliar with Sette Pieghe.

Lining Specifications
The Tre Pieghe model comes in two types: one with a lining luxuriously made from the same fabric as the outer material, and another with a sfoderata (unlined) hand-rolled finish. This particular model features a lined design. You can enjoy a stable and comfortable feel when wearing it.

Hidden Bar Tack & Horseshoe Bar Tack
This Tre Pieghe model features our unique "bar tack" specification in two places on the back. The image shows the horseshoe bar tack on the small blade. This bar tack serves the functional role of securely fastening the left and right fabrics, and it is also a decorative design embodying the artisan's skill and aesthetic sense. While not as high as a Sette Pieghe, the bar tack is positioned as high as possible. Although this increases fabric consumption for the lining and thus costs, we intentionally adopt it in pursuit of Cocon's aesthetic, to express the natural distortion and beautiful drape created when worn. On the back of the large blade, there is a hidden vertical knitted bar tack made from 100% twisted silk yarn, invisible from the outside. On the back of the small blade, a horseshoe-shaped knitted bar tack made from French cotton embroidery thread is meticulously hand-knitted one by one. The image shows the horseshoe-shaped knitted bar tack on the small blade. Both are original details conceived by Cocon, symbolizing artisan skill with a three-dimensional and substantial presence that can only be achieved through handmade craftsmanship.
Ancillary Materials

Ultra-High Density Echizen Weave Name
The brand tag and quality tag used in Cocon products are Echizen weave names, created by a textile name manufacturer in Fukui Prefecture with outstanding technical skills. In the Tre Pieghe model, the bar tack position is higher compared to general ties, so the tag position has been adjusted to achieve the most beautiful balance according to this unique specification. Furthermore, to convey the high level of Japanese textile technology, we challenge ourselves to express brand logos, QR codes, and washing instructions at the world's smallest level. Using ultra-fine threads, we have repeatedly improved it so that each character, though small, can be clearly recognized. While it may be something you don't usually pay much attention to, high Japanese technology is hidden here as well.

Kumihimo Loop
The loop attached to the back of the tie, also known as a small blade keeper, is generally made using the same fabric as the main body. However, Cocon uses a loop made using the traditional Japanese kumihimo (braiding) technique.
This kumihimo loop is carefully crafted one by one for Cocon by a long-established kumihimo workshop in Kyoto, making it a completely original specification.
This Tre Pieghe model features a loop made using a square eight-strand kumihimo braid.
The symmetrically crafted loop, with its beautiful balance, exudes a calm elegance whether the small blade is passed through it or not.
You can enjoy the authentic traditional beauty backed by tradition, right from your chest.
Cosmetic Box

Book-style Laminated Box
The Tre Pieghe model adopts a book-style V-cut box.
This cosmetic box is meticulously crafted one by one by a paper product manufacturer in Hokkaido with exceptional skill.
It is a book-style V-cut box made from fine paper (FSC certified forest paper) characterized by a gentle hammered pattern reminiscent of being finely struck with a hammer.
The brand logo is embossed in clear foil on the top surface, and the inside of the box has a two-layer structure with a core board to prevent the tie from being crushed.
By possessing not only beauty but also the joy of opening, the sound when closed, and the function of protecting the tie, we express our worldview.
Storage Method
After use, please hang the fabric in a well-ventilated, dark place to dry and allow wrinkles to restore.
Please note that direct sunlight may cause discoloration or fading of colors.
