Handmade Tre Pieghe Tie Kokkoku|Stripe 01 Heather Brown
Enjoy the quiet rhythm woven by the fabric in a natural way
The Tre Pieghe model featured here uses the "Kokkoku - Stripe 01" rep fabric with a striped pattern.
Like the plain Kokkoku fabric, the ridges created by the ultra-high density woven fabric have a subtle yet distinct presence.
By combining two stripes of different widths, it achieves a sharp look not found in plain fabrics.
With its understated pattern, it is highly versatile and naturally blends with various suits and jackets.
The Tre Pieghe, which is made with three folds, is supported by many businessmen for its ability to naturally create a beautiful knot.
Most ties distributed in Japan are also of this Tre Pieghe specification.
This tie is recommended for those who are new to COCON products, as well as for those who want to stick to quality while maintaining a basic style.
Furthermore, it is easier to handle than the Sette Pieghe and is suitable for everyday use, making it ideal for those who regularly wear ties, as well as a perfect gift.
Fabric and Material

Kokkoku|Stripe 01
COCON's timeless classic, the rep fabric "Kokkoku" in a striped pattern.
Since its establishment, Kokkoku has undergone numerous improvements to become the rep fabric we are most proud to recommend.
The fabric is woven with ultra-high density using special equipment.
Its ridges possess an orderly beauty reminiscent of the "sand ripples of a dry landscape garden."
The desire to engrave the highest level of craftsmanship to create the most beautiful possible ridges and pass it on to future generations is embodied in Kokkoku.
For Kokkoku Stripe, the fabric used is partially changed from Kokkoku Plain.
In addition to gray, navy and brown also feature heathered colors with a melange feel.
You can enjoy the beautiful, deep contrast created by the stripe against these colors.
Due to the use of silk top yarn and spun silk yarn, slight fuzz may appear on the fabric surface.
Also, please note that there may be individual differences in texture depending on the yarn production lot, etc.
This does not affect the quality, and we hope you will enjoy it as a unique characteristic of the fabric.

Extreme Weaving and Special Finishing Process
This Tre Pieghe model, like the high-end Sette Pieghe tie, uses "Kokkoku," a fabric woven with the highest quality silk threads, with the weft threads hammered in at an extremely high density, something unimaginable for ordinary silk weaving.
Fabric with extreme weaving density makes it very difficult to pass a needle through during sewing, making hand sewing extremely challenging.
Furthermore, the fabric can be stiff, affecting the tie's drape, and easily show marks after being made into a product.
To address these issues, a special finishing process tailored for ties is applied after the fabric is woven, resolving various problems.
After the finishing process, all fabrics undergo rigorous inspection using a linen tester (tabletop loupe), etc., before being made into products.

Yarn and Dyeing Named After a Goddess
The raw silk yarn used is carefully selected top-grade 6A natural silk. This top-grade 6A raw yarn is in a class of its own, bearing the name of the Roman goddess of flowers, spring, and fertility, "Flora," with a certificate of authenticity. As its name suggests, "Flora" is an extremely high-quality and rare silk, harvested in spring, the season with the highest quality cocoons, making it exceptional even among 6A grade. The pure silk threads produced from this are then dyed by artisans at a long-established dye house in Kyoto, which has handled Japanese dyeing since ancient times, with absolutely no compromise. Artisans with extensive knowledge and years of dyeing expertise take their time to carefully dye the threads, resulting in truly unique pure silk threads.

Color
The fabric of this product is woven using rare silk top yarn, which undergoes twice as many processes as ordinary silk yarn, and two types of pure silk yarn of different thicknesses. Multiple colors of silk are first crushed and then re-spun into yarn, creating a unique luster and melange effect in the silk top yarn. By further weaving in two shades of brown, we achieved a unique melange brown. In the white stripe section, different yarns are deliberately used: Tussah silk for the thicker line and cultivated silk for the thinner line.

Tailoring

Handmade tailoring, not machine-made
Like the high-end Sette Pieghe ties, our Tre Pieghe ties are meticulously hand-stitched one by one by skilled artisans.
While many brands manufacture using machines, COCON's Tre Pieghe ties are also handcrafted to the highest quality. From the stitching of the lining to the tags and bar tacks, every detail is handmade.
~ What is Tre Pieghe? ~
Meaning "Tre (3)" and "Pieghe (folds)" in Italian, it is a tie made with three folds. It has been loved by many businessmen for years because it always ties beautifully and creates a neat and formal impression. The majority of general ties distributed in Japan are Tre Pieghe, and it is said that factors such as less fabric usage and the possibility of machine manufacturing have made it mainstream.
COCON's Tre Pieghe, while differing in fabric consumption and folding method from Sette Pieghe, maintains the same quality in its fabric and unique specifications, and is also handmade.
This allows you to enjoy COCON products more easily, while still feeling the same luxury as Sette Pieghe. It is also recommended for those unfamiliar with Sette Pieghe.

Lining Specifications
Tre Pieghe models come in two types: a lined model that luxuriously uses the same fabric as the outer material, and a sfoderata (unlined) model with a hand-rolled finish.
This model is a lined version. You can enjoy a stable and comfortable feel when wearing it.

Hidden Bar Tack & Horseshoe Bar Tack
This Tre Pieghe model features our unique "bar tack" specification in two locations on the back. The image shows the horseshoe-shaped bar tack on the small blade. This bar tack serves the functional role of firmly securing the left and right fabrics, and also acts as a decorative design imbued with the artisan's skill and aesthetic sense. Although not as high as the Sette Pieghe, the bar tack is set as high as possible. While this increases the cost due to the increased lining fabric required, it is deliberately adopted as a pursuit of COCON's aesthetic to express the natural distortion and beautiful drape created when worn. On the back of the large blade, there is a hidden vertical knitted bar tack made of 100% silk strong twisted yarn, invisible from the outside. On the back of the small blade, a horseshoe-shaped knitted bar tack made of French cotton embroidery thread is carefully hand-knitted one by one. The image shows the horseshoe-shaped knitted bar tack on the small blade. Both are original details conceived by COCON, embodying the three-dimensional feel and presence that only handmade craftsmanship can achieve, symbolizing the artisan's skill.
Sub-materials

Ultra-high Density Echizen Weave Name Tag
The brand tags and quality tags used in COCON products are Echizen weave name tags made by a Fukui Prefecture weave name manufacturer with outstanding technology.
For the Tre Pieghe model, since the bar tack position is higher compared to general ties, the tag position is adjusted to achieve the most beautiful balance according to this unique specification.
Additionally, to convey the high level of Japanese weaving technology, we challenge ourselves to express brand logos, QR codes, and washing instructions at the world's smallest level.
Using ultra-fine threads, we have made continuous improvements so that each character, though small, is clearly recognizable.
While it may be something you don't usually pay much attention to, high-quality Japanese craftsmanship is hidden even here.

Kumihimo Loop
The loop on the back of the tie, also known as the small blade keeper, is generally made using the same fabric as the main body. However, COCON uses a loop made with the traditional Japanese kumihimo braiding technique.
This kumihimo loop is carefully crafted one by one by a long-established kumihimo workshop in Kyoto specifically for COCON, making it a completely original specification.
This Tre Pieghe model uses a loop made with square eight-braid kumihimo.
The symmetrically crafted loop exudes a calm beauty, whether the small blade is passed through it or not, due to its beautiful balance.
You can enjoy the authentic traditional beauty, backed by tradition, from your chest.
Gift Box

Book-style Laminated Box
The Tre Pieghe model comes in a book-style V-cut box.
This gift box is meticulously crafted one by one by a Hokkaido paper container manufacturer with exceptional skills.
It is a book-style V-cut box made from fine paper (FSC certified forest paper) featuring a gentle hammered pattern reminiscent of being finely struck with a hammer.
The top surface is embossed with a clear foil brand logo, and the inside of the box has a two-layer structure with an inner cardboard to prevent the tie from being crushed.
We express our worldview not only through beauty, but also through the joy of opening and the sound when closing, as well as the function of protecting the tie.
Storage Method
After use, please hang it in a well-ventilated, dark place to dry the fabric and restore wrinkles.
Please note that direct sunlight may cause color fading or discoloration.
