Handmade Tre Pieghe Tie Kokkoku|Stripe 01 Heather Charcoal Gray
Enjoy the quiet rhythm woven by the weave in a natural way
The Tre Pieghe model uses "Kokkoku - Stripe 01," a striped rep fabric.
Like the plain Kokkoku, the ridges created by the ultra-high-density woven fabric possess a subtle yet definite presence, despite appearing simple.
By combining two stripes of different widths, we have created a sharper look that was not present in the plain fabric.
Due to its modest pattern, it is highly versatile and naturally blends with various suits and jackets.
Tre Pieghe ties, made with three folds, are supported by many businessmen for their ability to naturally create a beautiful knot.
Most ties distributed in Japan also feature this Tre Pieghe specification.
This tie is recommended not only for those trying Cocon's products for the first time but also for those who want to stick to basics while valuing quality.
Additionally, compared to Sette Pieghe, it is easier to handle and suitable for daily use, making it ideal for those who frequently wear ties, as well as a perfect gift.
Fabric and Material

Kokkoku|Stripe 01
The striped pattern of Cocon's timeless classic, the rep fabric "Kokkoku."
Since its establishment, Kokkoku has undergone numerous improvements to become the rep (jinme-ori) fabric we are most proud to recommend.
This fabric is woven with ultra-high density using a special device.
Its ridges possess a serene beauty reminiscent of the "sand ripples of a dry landscape garden."
To create the most beautiful ridges possible, we diligently incorporate the highest techniques and pass them down to future generations—such is the sentiment behind Kokkoku.
For Kokkoku Stripe, some of the fabric used has been changed from plain Kokkoku.
In addition to gray, two other colors, navy and brown, are also adopted in heathered melange tones.
You can enjoy the deep, beautiful contrast created by the stripe.
Due to the use of silk top yarn and spun silk yarn, slight fuzz may appear on the fabric surface.
Please also note that there may be individual differences in texture depending on the production lot of the yarn.
This does not indicate a quality issue, and we hope you enjoy the unique character of the fabric.

Extreme High-Density Woven Fabric and Special Finishing Process
This Tre Pieghe model uses "Kokkoku," a fabric woven with the highest quality silk yarn, the same as in high-end Sette Pieghe ties, but with an impossibly high density of weft threads for ordinary silk fabrics. Fabric woven with such extreme density makes it very difficult for needles to pass through during sewing, making hand-stitching extremely challenging. Additionally, the fabric can be stiff, affecting the comfort of tying the tie, and prone to marks after the product is finished. To resolve these issues, a special finishing process tailored for ties is applied after weaving the fabric. Furthermore, after the finishing process, all fabrics undergo strict inspection using a linen tester (desktop loupe) or similar tools before being made into products.

Yarn and Dyeing Bearing the Name of a Goddess
The raw silk yarn used is carefully selected, top-grade 6A natural silk. This top-grade 6A raw silk yarn is in a class of its own compared to other raw yarns, bearing the name "Flora," after the Roman goddess of flowers, spring, and fertility, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. True to its name, "Flora" silk is extremely high quality and rare, representing silk from cocoons harvested in spring, which boasts the highest quality among all seasons, and even stands out among 6A grade silks. The raw silk thread produced from this is dyed by craftsmen without compromise at a long-established dyeing factory in Kyoto, which has been responsible for Japanese dyeing since ancient times. Craftsmen with extensive knowledge and years of dyeing experience meticulously dye the thread over time, resulting in truly unique raw silk thread.

Color
The fabric of this product is woven using rare silk top yarn, which undergoes twice as many processes as regular silk yarn, and two types of raw silk yarn of different thicknesses. By crushing multiple colors of silk once and re-spinning them into yarn, a unique sheen and melange effect are created in the silk top yarn, and by further weaving in two shades of gray, an unparalleled deep heather charcoal gray is achieved. Additionally, in the white stripe area, the thicker line is woven with wild silk (tussah silk) and the thinner line with domesticated silk, intentionally using different types of yarn.

Tailoring

Handmade Tailoring, Not Machine-Dependent
Tre Pieghe ties, like the high-end Sette Pieghe ties, are carefully hand-stitched one by one by skilled craftsmen.
While many brands manufacture by machine, Cocon's Tre Pieghe ties are also handmade to the highest quality. From the lining stitching to the tags and bar tacks, every detail is meticulously hand-finished.
~ What is Tre Pieghe? ~
"Tre Pieghe" means "three folds" in Italian, and as the name suggests, it is a tie made with three folds. It has been loved by many businessmen for years because it creates a neat knot no matter who ties it, and presents a crisp impression. The majority of common ties distributed in Japan are Tre Pieghe, and factors such as less fabric consumption and the possibility of machine manufacturing are said to have made it mainstream.
Cocon's Tre Pieghe differs from Sette Pieghe in fabric consumption and folding method, but the fabric used and uniquely designed specifications maintain the same quality, and it is also handmade.
This allows you to enjoy Cocon products more easily while still feeling the same high quality as Sette Pieghe. It is also recommended for those who are unfamiliar with Sette Pieghe.

Lining Specification
There are two types of Tre Pieghe models: one with a lining made luxuriously from the same outer fabric, and a sfoderata (unlined) model with a hand-rolled finish.
This model features a lined version. You can enjoy a stable and comfortable fit.

Hidden Bar Tack / Horseshoe Bar Tack
This Tre Pieghe model features a unique "bar tack" specification in two locations on the back. The image shows the horseshoe bar tack on the small blade side.
This bar tack serves a functional role in firmly securing the left and right fabrics, and also acts as an ornamental design embodying the craftsmanship and aesthetic sense of the artisan.
While not as high as Sette Pieghe, the bar tack is positioned as high as possible.
Although this increases the fabric consumption for the lining and thus the cost, we deliberately adopt it as a pursuit of Cocon's aesthetic to express the natural distortion and beautiful drape created when tied.
On the reverse side of the large blade, there is a hidden vertical knitted bar tack made of 100% silk high-twist yarn, invisible from the outside. On the reverse side of the small blade, a horseshoe-shaped knitted bar tack made of French cotton embroidery thread is hand-knitted one by one. The image shows the horseshoe-shaped knitted bar tack on the small blade side.
Both are original details conceived by Cocon, symbolizing the artisan's skill with a three-dimensional and impactful presence that can only be achieved through handmade craftsmanship.
Auxiliary Materials

Ultra-High Density Echizen Woven Name Label
The brand tags and quality tags used in Cocon products employ Echizen-ori name labels, made by a name label manufacturer in Fukui Prefecture with outstanding technology. For the Tre Pieghe model, the bar tack position is higher compared to general ties, so the tag position is adjusted to achieve the most beautiful balance in accordance with this unique specification. Furthermore, to convey the high level of Japanese weaving technology, we have challenged ourselves to express the brand logo, QR code, and washing instructions at the world's smallest level. Using ultra-fine threads, we repeatedly refined them so that each character, though small, can be clearly recognized. While it may be something you don't usually pay much attention to, high Japanese technology is hidden here as well.

Braided Cord Loop
The loop on the back of the tie, also known as the small blade loop, is generally made from the same fabric as the main body. However, Cocon uses a loop made with traditional Japanese kumihimo (braided cord) techniques.
This kumihimo loop is carefully crafted one by one by a long-established kumihimo workshop in Kyoto specifically for Cocon, making it a completely original specification.
This Tre Pieghe model features a loop made using a square eight-braid kumihimo.
The symmetrically crafted loop, with its beautiful balance, exudes a calm elegance whether the small blade is passed through it or not.
You can enjoy the authentic traditional beauty, backed by tradition, from your chest.
Presentation Box

Book-style Laminated Box
For the Tre Pieghe model, we use a book-style V-cut box. This presentation box is carefully crafted one by one by a paper products manufacturer in Hokkaido with outstanding techniques. It is a book-style V-cut box made from fine paper (FSC certified forest paper) characterized by a gentle embossed pattern resembling fine hammering. The brand logo is hot-stamped with clear foil on the top surface, and the inside of the box has a two-layer structure with an inner cardboard to prevent the tie from creasing. We express our worldview not only through beauty, but also through the joy of opening it, the sound it makes when closed, and its function to protect the tie.
Storage Method
After use, please hang the tie in a well-ventilated, dark place to dry the fabric and allow wrinkles to restore.
Please be careful not to leave it in direct sunlight, as this may cause fading or discoloration.
